**** NS SPCA Release

Helping pets can be extremely rewarding but also emotionally taxing.  Animal lovers enter this field because they adore pets and want to help. But the work is never done, and we can’t always win.

To help, the Nova Scotia SPCA is offering a free five-week Resilience Support Group to any veterinary team member or animal shelter worker living in Canada. ????

The group facilitator is both a registered veterinary technician AND a Master of Social Work student working at our SPCA Veterinary Hospital. ???? During group meetings, the facilitator will provide material on developing resilience through information sessions, informal discussions, and sharing stories.

Weekly topics covered will be:
May 27 – Perfectionism and Mistakes
June 3 – Boundaries
June 10 – Coping with Death and Critical Cases
June 17 – Communication
June 24 – Interpersonal Relationships

Do you need support? To participate or learn more, please reach out to Kathleen at kdunbar@spcans.ca today. ????

Participants are not required to prepare anything in advance or attend every session. ???? We do ask that you pre-register each week to ensure all members have space to share their feelings and experiences. Thank you!

*Meetings will be held virtually on Fridays, from May 27th to June 24th, between 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm AST*
