Police Investigate Weapons Call (Shooting) – Halifax

At 4:14 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of possible gun shots in the 3000 block of Romans Avenue, Halifax.​

Multiple officers responded and confirmed a shooting had taken place.​ No one was injured and there no suspect information at this time.​ ​

Investigators with the General Investigation Section and the Forensic Identification Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation.​

The investigation is in its preliminary stages and is ongoing.​ ​

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call police at 902-490-5020.​ Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.

Police Investigate Robbery & Arrest Suspect – Bedford

At 6:09 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a robbery in progress in the parking lot of 80 Peakview Way Bedford.​

Caller report a male armed with a firearm entered a parked vehicle and demanded money from the driver.​ ​

Multiple officers responded and arrested the suspect without incident still inside the vehicle and in possession of a firearm and knife.​ The driver was not injured.​

A 39 year old male is face Robbery and Firearms charges and will held for court. ​ ​ Police are not searching for and other suspects.​

Police Investigate a Weapon Call – Halifax

At 2:38 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of Weapons Call in the 6000 block of Quinpool Road, Halifax.​ A caller reported an unknown male in a white car produced a firearm and pointed it and then took off.​ The vehicle was last observed speeding toward Robie Street.​ No one was injured.

Multiple officers searched the area, but have not located the suspect.​ There is no suspect description at this time.​ Investigators with the Quick Response Unit are conducting the investigation, which is in the initial stages.

Police provide update on missing person cases

Halifax Regional Police is providing an update on two missing person cases.

In keeping with our practice in relation to cases where we have requested the public’s assistance in locating a missing person, we are updating the public. Unfortunately, in these cases both men were found deceased. Our thoughts remain with the families at this difficult time.

On December 18, 2019 police requested the public’s assistance in locating a missing 43-year-old Dartmouth man who was last heard from in early November. He was reported missing to police on December 16, 2019.

On October 8 West Division Patrol members responded to a report of a deceased man in a wooded area off Rocky Lake Drive in Bedford. The deceased was confirmed to be the man reported missing on December 18, 2019. Members of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division along with the Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an investigation and do not believe the death to be suspicious.

On August 23, 2020 police requested the public’s assistance in locating a missing 60-year-old Dartmouth man who was last seen in the area of Sackville Drive and Cobequid Road in Sackville on August 22, 2020.

On October 14 the Sackville Detachment of the RCMP received a report of a deceased man in a wooded area off Sackville Drive.

The deceased was confirmed to be the man reported missing on September 1.

Members of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division along with the Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an investigation and do not believe the death to be suspicious.

We will not be releasing further details out of respect for the families of the two men
