You’re invited to Gus’s birthday weekend: Friday August 12, Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14 with parties at 11 am and 2 pm each day.
Join us all weekend to:
- Visit the Gus exhibit celebrating all things Gus
- See how many Gus’ tall you are
- Make your own Gus 100 postcard
- Explore Gus’ museum Turtle Trail
- Find all of Gus’ favorite places in the museum
- Get crafty and make your own turtle

Friday, August 12th
Create a Gus postcard!
9:30am – 11:30am (drop in)
2:00pm – 4:00pm (drop in)
Create your own Gus 100 postcard! Using the relief printing method, we will create a special Gus postcard for you to take home. This activity takes place in the Museum’s Project Room on the lower level.
Lunch With… Nova Scotia Wildlife
10:00am and 12:30pm
You’ll find some of Nova Scotia’s rich biodiversity living at the museum. Learn what animals eat and how it connects them to their surroundings and join us as we feed and care for a variety of native animals.

Join us as we officially wish Gus a happy 100th hatchday! We will sing happy birthday and join Gus on a snack and a stroll. You can chat with Museum staff about Gus and ask questions.
Cupcakes and lemonade will be available in the Museum’s Auditorium following the birthday wishes. Please note that quantities are limited.
Gus’s Turtle Tour and Favourite Spots
All day
Slow down, look around, and take a turtle tour through the Museum! Look for turtle stickers to find turtle hotspots in the exhibits. You can also look down low to find 10 of Gus’s favourite spots.
Turtle crafts
All day
Let’s get creative and make some turtle crafts! Visit the Project Room on the lower level to make your own turtle and do some coloring.
