Repost – Introducing Tartan Tails Veterinary Hospital
Helping Bluenosers and wet noses!
Atlantic Canada’s only social enterprise veterinary hospitals have re-branded. The Nova Scotia SPCA veterinary hospitals in Dartmouth and Sydney – and soon in Stellarton – will now be known as Tartan Tails Veterinary Hospital.
“This re-brand is important because we are open to all pet families, but with SPCA in the name, many thought we were only open for shelter pets, and that’s not the case,” says Tartan Tails Dartmouth veterinarian, Dr. Mike Ackerley. “It is important for people to know that they can choose Tartan Tails as their veterinary hospital, and that proceeds from these hospitals support the SPCA shelters and programs. So, by choosing Tartan Tails, you are supporting animals in shelters across Nova Scotia.”
As a locally owned veterinary hospital, accessibility for pet owners is at the forefront of the rebranding of Tartan Tails. “Whether that is because we have openings for new clients or an array of treatment options that recognizes the diverse needs of clients and their pets,” says Dr. Ackerley.
Tartan Tails will continue to operate in the same locations, with the same knowledgeable and caring staff, including graduates from the Nova Scotia SPCA College of Animal Welfare veterinary assistant program.
Appointments can be booked by emailing dartmouth@tartantailsvet.ca and capebreton@tartantailsvet.ca. Dartmouth clients can book online at tartantailsvet.ca, and will be able to access all their pets’ past medications, vaccinations, diagnostics, and appointments, in their pet portal. This will soon be launched in Cape Breton and when open, Stellarton.
This rebrand, similar to tartan itself, symbolizes family and hope for new beginnings.
