Police charge driver in vehicle/pedestrian collision

Police have charged the driver in a vehicle/ pedestrian collision that occurred earlier this week in Bedford.

​ At approximately 9:50 p.m. on June 8, police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision at the intersection of the Bedford Highway and Convoy Run. A vehicle struck a 48-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man who were crossing the Bedford Highway in a marked crosswalk. The woman was taken to hospital for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, and the man was taken to hospital for what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

The driver, a 36-year-old Bedford woman has been charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
