Police charge a man and a youth for assault involving a weapon
Police have charged a man and a youth in relation to an assault with a weapon that occurred in Halifax yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 2:45 p.m. police responded to an assault that had just occurred in the 6900 block of Mumford Road. The victim, a 28-year-old Halifax man, had been in a verbal dispute with a man and a youth. The two suspects, one of which was reported to have a firearm, assaulted the victim and then fled on foot.
The man and youth were arrested in the 7000 block of Bayers Road a short time later without incident. The man was in possession of a replica firearm
The 15-year-old Halifax youth has been charged with assault and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Youth Court at a later date.
Tarrance Alexander Samuel Mullen, 18, of Halifax is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of:
- Assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Causing a disturbance by fighting
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Use of an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence
