Police investigate weapons call

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a report of a man with a gun in Halifax today.

At approximately 2 p.m. officers responded to a report of a man with a gun in the area of the Killam Library at 6216 Coburg Road. Officers attended and checked the building and surrounding area. The man was not located. There were no other reports in relation to the man and there were no reported injuries. Officers will remain in the area as a precautionary measure.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.

Do not enter. Staff and Students are able to leave. Other buildings remain open. Police are checking each floor. There is no known threat but police are searching based on unconfirmed information.
