**** NS SPCA Release / Info
“Once again we find it necessary to communicate how unnecessary and avoidable this situation is.
On February 12th, a call was placed to the SPCA Cruelty investigators about a deceased dog in a crate in a field along the Cheboque Rd Trail in Yarmouth.
We find this particularly shocking and upsetting considering the Yarmouth SPCA is located just a few minutes away and did not receive a call about a dog surrender request. Unfortunately this time it was too late for the dog.
We are unsure how long the crate was there, or when the dog passed away. Due to the graphic nation we are unable to share pictures, but can say the dog was a male with short hair, medium size, mostly black with some brown markings.
If you have any information regarding who abandoned this dog please contact Animal Cruelty at 888-703-7722 or animals@spcans.ca
Once again we are asking the community to spread the word – abandonment is never an option! We are here to help. We understand unexpected life situations happen and strive to be understanding and non judgmental. There is no reason to discard an animal in this way.”
