NSP: An Update for Residential Customers

The Covid Chronicle

**** NSP Media Release

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, the health and safety of our customers, employees, and the communities where we operate remains our top priority.

We have reviewed and refined our safety protocols to allow us to safely do more field work, including meter reading. Starting the week of May 11th, you will see our meter readers back in the community. A typical meter reading is taken at the site of the meter. It takes less than a minute to record your reading and does not require any contact with our employees.

As always, our meter readers will conduct a safety assessment before approaching a property. You will notice they will be wearing job-specific personal protective equipment and may wear additional protective equipment such as gloves and a cloth face mask if the situation requires. They will also be practicing physical distancing, so we ask you to please stay at least six feet or two metres from members of our team as part of our safety protocol.

Why is it important that we can safely read your meter? Once we read your meter, your next bill can reflect your actual usage since your last meter reading. This ensures you only pay for electricity you used. No more, no less.

If you have questions about our COVID-19 response or our current safety protocols, please visit nspower.ca/covid-19.
