Lunenburg County man arrested for firearms offences
On May 25, Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a call of shots fired. A description of the vehicle was provided to police, and the caller included the licence plate number of a vehicle seen leaving the area.
A patrol was made to the area, and the police officer did queries on the licence plate and went to the home of the vehicle owner to continue the investigation. While speaking with the owner of the vehicle, thepolice officer noticed a gun case that was open and could see a gun inside. The vehicle owner was arrested, and after being searched, he was found to be in possession of illegal prescription drugs and some ammunition. He was taken to the detachment.
Upon doing further queries, the owner was found to be in breach of a number of court-ordered conditions. He was charged and held in custody until a court appearance on May 29. Troy CurtisComeau-Martell, 24, of Chester, is charged with:
Possession of a Controlled Substance,
Possession of a Weapon for A Dangerous Purpose,
Possession of a Firearm Knowing Possession is Unauthorized,
Careless Use of a Firearm,
Breach of Conditions,
Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited
The matter will be back in court on June 9 in Truro Provincial Court.
