On January 19, just before noon, a member with Southwest Traffic Services was patrolling Hwy. 101 near Beliveau Cove in Digby County. The officer observed a vehicle in the rear-view mirror gaining on him very quickly and activated his rear radar; he obtained a speed of 165 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone. The driver, a 30-year-old Digby man, who only had a Learner’s Licence, was issued a stunting ticket resulting in a $2,422.50 fine and an immediate seven-day licence suspension.
