Impaired driver arrested after colliding into house, fleeing scene in Halifax

On February 28th at 10:07 pm Halifax Regional Police received a call regarding a vehicle that had struck a house and fled the scene in the 1-10 block of Windstone Close, Halifax.​

As the vehicle was fleeing the scene it nearly struck a pedestrian.​ Officers were able to locate an address for the registered owner of the vehicle from vehicle parts left at the scene.​

The vehicle however was not located there.​ Officers were then able follow grooves in the road that were made by the vehicle when it drove away and one of its tires were flat.​ The vehicle was located a short distance from the registered owner’s residence.​ The driver was located at his residence.

As a result a 20 year old male will be appearing in court at later date to face charges of impaired driving, driving over .08, leaving the scene of an accident and property damage.​ A residence suffered significant damage as a result of the accident however no one was injured.
