As recommended in Dr. Scot Wortley’s report in 2019, HRP will no longer retain existing historical street check records in their current form beyond December 2020. Data will be de-identified after that.
Anyone interested in obtaining their personal information that they believe may be contained in these historical records can use HRP’s FOIPOP process. Requests must be received by October 31, 2020. More info: http://www.halifax.ca/fire-police/police/programs-services/accessing-information
