“Homeward Bound”, Nova Scotia Style
On July 12, Halifax District RCMP was called to a report of a golden retriever running on Hwy 101 in Middle Sackville. Just before officers arrived, a passerby was able to catch the pup and keep her safe. Officers then took her back to the Tantallon RCMP detachment where she spent some quality time in the cell block relaxing and getting hydrated after her big run while Cst. Boutilier worked to reunite the pup with her family. Thanks to the powers of social media, the owner was located and attended the detachment to retrieve Maya.
Maya’s owners were moving that day to Ontario and Maya was just not ready to say farewell to Nova Scotia.
