Today, in 1858, a fire broke out at the Bigsby’s building. William H. Kelly, a 22-year-old Union Engine Company member (No. 3 Engine), was injured while rescuing a child and would later die of his injuries on September 15, 1859. He is buried at Camp Hill Cemetery.
