The EcoEndurance Challenge 2020 marks the 20th anniversary of the E2C event- and the end of an era for the event. Organizers are promising to make this years event the best one ever.

Through the years, the Eco-Endurance Challenge (E2C) has proven to be an exciting and challenging adventure hosted outside Halifax, Nova Scotia. The course uses an area of more than 100 km2 of forest, bogs, streams and trails. It will challenge your navigational abilities as well as endurance in the back country of Eastern Canada. This fundraising event promises to be equally fun and challenging for the seasoned adventure racer or the first time participant. The event is open to all individuals, not just Search and Rescue volunteers.

Operated as annual event, it is held on hiking trails & woods within Halifax Municipality and is a great event for anyone that likes hiking, walking, trail running & the great outdoors. Teams of two to five people have a fixed time (4, 8 or 24 hours) to visit as many of the 60 checkpoints (flags) as possible. Each year there are over 370 participants that come out & have a a great time together.

The winner of the event is the team that obtains the highest point total within the specified time, or is the fastest to return to the start after visiting all the markers on the course. Amazing prizes offered annually include cash awards of $1,000, $500, and $250.

All entrants receive t-shirts and medals. Everyone also receives high resolution maps of the area, lots & lots of food, and draw prizes from our sponsors. All this combined with a wicked pile of spring time FUN!!

In addition to organizers maintaining their core competencies as searchers, team members volunteer hundreds of hours annually to plan and produce the E2C. For good reason- all profits from the Eco-Endurance Challenge are used to support the life-saving activities of Halifax Search and Rescue and provide assistance to the Orienteering Association of Nova Scotia.

Your first challenge is to come up with the most creative team name!
