Big donations of 1500 protective masks to the HRFE helps firefighters stay safe

HRFE was honored to receive a donation of over 1000 surgical masks from the Chinese Society of Nova Scotia and the Chinese Benevolent Association of Nova Scotia.

These masks will help protect our firefighters from COVID-19 so they will be ready when you need them!

Wilber Huang, President of the Chinese Society of Nova Scotia, Michael Ruan, Honorary President of the Chinese Benevolent Association of Nova Scotia and Hong Wang, a member of the Chinese Benevolent Association of Nova Scotia visited Fire Station # 4 in Halifax today to donate these valuable masks.

Deputy Chief Dave Meldrum and Platoon Captain Richard Fong accepted this generous gift on behalf of the department.

The Chinese Society of Nova Scotia and the Chinese Benevolent Association of Nova Scotia have also donated masks to Halifax Regional Police, Canada Post Corporation and several senior citizens care facilities in Nova Scotia. They are in the process of assisting the RCMP with additional masks. Their generosity and kindness is representative of the valuable contributions of Chinese Nova Scotians to our municipality and our province.

Working together we will overcome the threat of the novel coronavirus. Stay home and stay safe!
