All HRCE schools will be closed tomorrow (Feb. 8, 2021). Offices will be closed until at least 12 pm.
This decision was based on the following information:
- Forecast is calling for the region to receive 30 – 35 cm of snow by 7 am;
- Due to the timing and accumulation of snow, road and sidewalk conditions are expected to be poor throughout the school day. School driveways, bus loops, parking lots and entrances will take several hours to clear after the snow ends;
- Many municipal services have been impacted, including Halifax Transit which is suspended until 10 a.m. at the earliest;
- Provincial government offices across Nova Scotia are delayed in opening until at least noon.
