Weekly Traffic Advisories (17 Jan)

**** Municipal Release

Traffic Delay – Lucasville Road

Location: Lucasville Road at the bridge over the Sackville River

Date: Monday, May 6 until early 2025

Time: 24/7

Work details: This work is to facilitate the rehabilitation of the Lucasville Bridge. This is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Temporary traffic signals will be installed to control traffic flow through the work site as work progresses on the Lucasville Bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Street Closure – Market Street

Location: Prince George Hotel

Dates: Tuesday, Jan. 21

Time: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This closure is required to hoist a generator on to the roof of the Prince George Hotel.

Traffic impact: A detour will be in place. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Traffic Delay – Robie Street

Location: Robie Street between Binney and Shirley streets

Date: Monday, Jan. 20 to Monday, Jan. 27

Time: 24/7

Work details: This work is to support the Halifax Infirmary Expansion Project.

Traffic impact: The northbound lanes on Robie Street will be re-directed into the southbound lane just after the Jubilee Street intersection. Northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane between Jubilee Road and Cherry Street. The southbound lanes will be reduced to two lanes (one through lane and one right turn lane at the Jubilee Road intersection). Left turns on to Veterans Memorial Lane from the southbound lane of Robie Street will be prohibited. Drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes where possible.

The Robie Street east sidewalk between Bell Road and Veterans Memorial Lane will remain closed.
