Police Investigate vehicle bicycle collision

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a vehicle bicycle collision that occurred this afternoon in Halifax.

At approximately 3:23 p.m., officers responded to a vehicle bicycle collision in the 5800 block of Spring Garden Rd. A 23-year-old male cyclist travelling East on Spring Garden Road collided with the open door of a parked vehicle. The cyclist was transported to hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

Spring Garden Road was closed to all traffic between South Park Street and Summer Street while the Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the collision. Spring Garden Road re-opened at 5:30 p.m.
