Traffic Delay – Lucasville Road
Location: Lucasville Road at the bridge over the Sackville River
Date: Monday, May 6 until early 2025
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is to facilitate the rehabilitation of the Lucasville Bridge. This is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Temporary traffic signals will be installed to control traffic flow through the work site as work progresses on the Lucasville Bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Hornes Road Bridge
Location: Hornes Road Bridge, between Cow Bay Road and Caldwell Road
Date: July 2, 2024 to November 2024
Time: 24/7
Work details: This closure is to facilitate the rebuilding of the bridge.
Traffic impact: A signed detour will be in place.
Halifax Transit will be re-routed and the following stops will be closed:

Hornes Road at civic 42 (2222)
Hornes Road at civic 74 (2223)
Hornes Road after Cow Bay Road (7147)

Date: Wednesday, Sept. 25 to Thursday, Oct. 31
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is required for gas service installation and road repairs.
Traffic impact: Two-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Robie Street
Location: Robie Street, from Spring Garden Road and University Avenue
Date: Friday, Nov. 1
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is required for gas valve repair and road restoration.
Traffic impact: The northbound lane will be closed while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Old Sambro Road
Location: Old Sambro Road, adjacent to the Dunbrack Street intersection
Date: Friday, Nov. 1
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work Details: The work is utility installation for 48 Old Sambro Road.
Traffic Impact: Traffic signals will be turned off during this time. Traffic control personnel will direct traffic at the intersection. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Road Closure – Spring Avenue
Location: Spring Avenue, from Mount Edward Road to Belle Vista Drive
Date: Saturday, Nov. 2
Time: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Work details: This work is for pavement maintenance, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: This will be a “rolling closure,” in that the closed section of the roadway will move with the construction crew as they proceed through the work area. Local traffic and emergency vehicle access will be maintained. Signed detours and traffic personnel will be in place to guide motorists through the work area. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Hollis Street
Location: Hollis Street, between Bishop and Barrington streets
Date: Thursday Oct. 31
Time: 8 p.m to 5 a.m. the following morning
Work details: This work is for pavement maintenance. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place.

Location: Gottingen Street, between Macara and Almon streets
Date: Monday, Nov. 4 until Friday, Nov. 8
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day
Work details: This work is required for gas main installation and road repairs.
Traffic impact: The section of road on Gottingen Street, between Macara and Almon streets, will be closed each day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A marked detour will be in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Times: Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This delay is to facilitate replacement of an electric generator.
Traffic impact: Signed detours will be in place for pedestrians. Cyclists will temporarily use the street in single file with vehicles. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.
