Traffic Delay – Lucasville Road

Location: Lucasville Road at the bridge over the Sackville River

Date: Monday, May 6 until early 2025

Time: 24/7

Work details: This work is to facilitate the rehabilitation of the Lucasville Bridge. This is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Temporary traffic signals will be installed to control traffic flow through the work site as work progresses on the Lucasville Bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Intersection of Gottingen and Falkland streets

Location: Intersection of Gottingen and Falkland streets

Date: Friday, Nov. 29

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This work includes road repair on Falkland Street in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Oxford Street

Location: Oxford Street, between Quinpool Road and Oak Street

Date: Tuesday, Dec. 3

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This work is required for gas service installation and road repairs.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes wherever possible.

Traffic Delay – Intersections of Bauer and Cogswell streets and Bauer and Nora Bernard streets

Location: Intersections of Bauer and Cogswell streets and Bauer and Nora Bernard streets

Date: Thursday, Nov. 28

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This work includes road repair in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Oxford Street

Location: Oxford Street, between Vienna and Berlin streets

Date: Wednesday, Nov. 27

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This work includes concrete installation, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: An altered centreline and traffic control personnel will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes wherever possible.

Traffic Delay – Spring Garden Road

Location: Spring Garden Road between South Park Street and Dresden Row

Date: Nov. 29 and Dec. 2 to 5

Time: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Work details: This delay is due to material deliveries for a new development.

Traffic impact: The westbound lane will be closed. The eastbound lane will function as usual. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

The north sidewalk will be closed during active deliveries and pedestrians will be directed to the opposite side of the street. The south sidewalk will remain open.

Transit impact: Two bus stops will be closed:

  • Spring Garden Road before Dresden Row (8330)
  • Spring Garden Road before South Park Street (8334)

Spring Garden Road westbound will be detoured to Queen Street, then Morris Street and South Park Street (except for buses 10A, B and C turn left on to South Park Street) and then back to Spring Garden Road.

Traffic Delay – Windsor Street

Location: 2483 Windsor Street

Date: Tuesday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 29 

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This work is for natural gas pipeline installation and right-of-way restoration. 

Traffic impact:  There will be a lane drop while work is under way. Motorists should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Location: Windsor Street, from Connaught to Maxwell avenues

Date: Tuesday Nov. 26

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This work includes road repair, in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place from Connaught Avenue to Connolly Street while work is underway. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place from Connolly Street to Maxwell Avenue. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes wherever possible.

Traffic Delay – Beaver Bank Lions Parade of Lights

Location: Beaver Bank and Kinsac roads

Date: Sunday, Nov. 24

Time: 6 to 7 p.m.

Work details: There will be traffic delays as the parade moves through the community.

Traffic impact: The parade will start at Barrett Lumbar (224 Beaver Bank Road), then turn left onto Beaver Bank Road. The parade will then turn right onto Kinsac Road and end at Kinsac Elementary.

Traffic Delay – Kempt Road

Location: Kempt Road, from Stanley to Stairs streets

Date: Monday, Nov. 25 to Thursday, Nov. 28

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details:  This work includes sidewalk repair, in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Herring Cove Road

Location: Herring Cove Rd, near civic address 555 Herring Cove Road

Date: Nov. 25 to Dec. 6

Time: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Work details: This work is needed to facilitate blasting activities for the Green Acres subdivision development.

Traffic impact: Road closures will be limited to 5-to-10-minute increments and will only be in place during blasting activities. Peak delays will take place between 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic delay – Oxford Street

Location: Oxford Street, from Bayers Road to civic 6412 Roslyn Road

Date: Thursday Nov. 21 to Tuesday, Dec. 31

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work Details: This work is to support a natural gas pipeline installation and right of way restoration.

Traffic impact: Two-way traffic will be maintained at a time while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Re-opening – Barrington Street

Location: Barrington Street from Upper Water to Duke streets

Date: Monday, Nov. 25, starting at 5 a.m.

Time: 24/7

Work details: This closure was in place to facilitate the mass excavation and final configuration of Barrington Street in support of the Cogswell District project.

Traffic impact: Traffic will travel along Barrington Street between Upper Water Street and Duke Street. There will be one lane northbound and two lanes southbound maintained during peak hours. Motorists should expect delays.

Transit impact: Stops 5 and 84 located on Albemarle Street will be relocated to a temporary bay on the west side of Barrington Street north of Duke Street, in front of Scotia Square.

Road Closure – Cogswell Street

Location: Cogswell Street from Albemarle to Barrington streets

Date: Monday, Nov. 25, starting at 5 a.m.

Time: 24/7

Work details: This closure is to facilitate the mass excavation and final configuration of Cogswell Street at the Barrington Street intersection. This work is in support of the Cogswell District project.

Traffic impact: Traffic heading southbound from the new roundabout will have the option to travel southbound on a partially reopened Barrington Street or continue on Upper Water Street. Access to/from Albemarle Street will be via Brunswick Street and Duke Street. Northbound traffic will be able to travel through the area on either Upper Water Street or Barrington Street from Duke Street. Motorists should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Transit impact: Stops 5 and 84 located on Albemarle Street will be relocated to a temporary bay on the west side of Barrington Street north of Duke Street, in front of Scotia Square.

Road Closure – Jubilee Road

Location: Jubilee Road between Oxford and Larch streets

Date: Monday, Nov. 18 to Monday, Nov. 25

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This closure is due to utility installation for a new development.

Traffic impact: Local access only. One sidewalk will remain open during construction. The closed sidewalk and will alternate sides as construction progresses. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
