(Update) Gas leak in Dartmouth

Please be advised that the gas leak on Monique Avenue in Dartmouth has been fully contained. At this time, there is no release of gas, as the line has been effectively pinched off. There is no current threat to public safety. Our crews, in collaboration with Halifax Fire, remain on site to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to restore the area.

Gas leak update – Crews appear to have the leak shut off and continue to work on the problem on Monique Avenue. An evacuation appears to still be in effect with restricted access in the area

Halifax Regional Police is assisting Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency in relation to a gas leak on Monique Avenue in Dartmouth. Monique Avenue between Farthingon Place and Leamon Drive is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Police are asking the public to remain away from the area.

Please use alternate routes to avoid delays.
