Scaling New Heights for Lung Health in Nova Scotia and PEI with the Third Annual Stair Heroes Fundraising Event
Lung health takes center stage as LungNSPEI proudly announces the launch of the eagerly anticipated new Stair Heroes event website and the opening of registrations for this year’s heart-pumping event. Stair Heroes, an exhilarating 36-flight stair climb, is set to take place on Sunday, November 3rd, from 8:00 am to Noon at Scotia Square Mall in Halifax.
Since its inception in 2020, Stair Heroes has emerged as the flagship fundraising event for LungNSPEI, supporting critical lung health programs across Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Last year alone, the event raised an astounding $50,000, underscoring its pivotal role in advancing lung health initiatives in the region.
This year, Stair Heroes promises an electrifying experience for participants and spectators alike. Embracing the theme of heroes, inspired by the continued partnership with Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Services, the event invites both firefighters and the general public to register and partake in this fun and challenging event.
“At LungNSPEI, we are committed to fostering good lung health and healthy living,” remarked Robert MacDonald, President and CEO of LungNSPEI. “Stair Heroes embodies these values, offering an unparalleled opportunity for individuals of all ages to come together in support of lung health.”
With the decline in traditional fundraising avenues such as direct mail campaigns, Stair Heroes represents a dynamic shift towards diversifying fund development strategies. The event’s unique appeal lies in its distinction as the sole charity stair climb east of Montreal, coupled with its engagement of an extensive network of volunteer and paid firefighters across Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
“We are thrilled to embark on this journey towards healthier lungs and stronger communities,” MacDonald added. “Stair Heroes not only raises vital funds for lung health programs but also fosters camaraderie and friendly competition among firefighters and participants.”
As Stair Heroes coincides with Lung Month in November, LungNSPEI hopes to garner heightened visibility and increased media coverage, amplifying awareness of the event’s mission and impact.
This year, LungNSPEI invites everyone to join the movement for lung health. Whether as a participant, donor, volunteer, or enthusiastic supporter, your involvement is instrumental in driving positive change and transforming lives. Mark your calendars for November 3rd and be prepared to cheer on the heroes scaling new heights for lung health.
