Nova Scotia Health advising of potential COVID-19 exposure on July 19 flight from Toronto to Halifax
Nova Scotia Health is advising of potential exposure to COVID-19 on Air Canada flight AC 626 on July 19 from Toronto to Halifax. It departed Toronto at approximately 10 p.m. and landed in Halifax at approximately 1 a.m. July 20.
While anyone on the flight could have been exposed, based on Public Health’s investigation to date, passengers in rows 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, seats C, D-F are more likely to have had close contact. Passengers in these seats are asked to call 811 for advice.
In addition, Nova Scotia Health is directly contacting anyone else known to be a close contact of the person(s) confirmed to have COVID-19.
It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on the flight may develop symptoms up to 14 days after. This would be up to, and including, August 3, 2020.
Those on the flight should self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
COVID-19 symptoms include:
- Fever (chills, sweats, etc.)
- Cough (new or worsening)
- Sore throat
- Headache
- Shortness of breath
- Muscle aches
- Sneezing
- Nasal congestion or runny nose
- Hoarse voice
- Diarrhea
- Unusual fatigue
- Loss of sense of smell or taste
- Red, purple or blueish lesions, on the feet, toes or fingers without clear cause
If you have any COVID-19 symptoms:
Call 811 for assessment and identify that you were on the flight. Please self-isolate until you receive 811 advice on next steps.
Do not go directly to a COVID-19 assessment centre without being directed to do so by 811.
