Road Closure – Windward Avenue
Location: Windward Avenue, from Lucien Drive to Lea Street
Date: Friday, September 22 to Friday, September 29
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Note: Work will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 23).
Work details: This work is for pavement maintenance, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Windward Avenue will be closed while work is underway. Local street access will be maintained. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible. Sidewalks will remain open.

Location: Lucien Drive, from Dorethea Drive to Grimes Avenue
Date: Friday, September 22 to Friday, September 29
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Note: Work will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. only on Saturday, September 23)

Traffic Delay – Freedom of the City Parade
Location: Barrington Street
Date: Saturday, September 23
Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Work details: This is in support of the Freedom of the City Parade.
Traffic impact: The parade will begin and end at HMCS Scotian and will impact Barrington, George and Upper Water streets.

Road Construction – Brunswick and Cogswell streets
Location: The intersection of Brunswick and Cogswell streets
Date: Thursday, September 21 to Wednesday, September 27
Time: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday
Work details: In preparation for installation of underground services through this intersection, work is required to remove the median. This work is in support of the Cogswell District project.
Traffic impact: Vehicle traffic will be maintained at all time through traffic control personnel. There will be no impact to pedestrians through this work. Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes.

Road Closures – Lake Echo area
Location: Lake Echo area
Date: Sunday, Sept. 24
Time: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Work Details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate the Lake Echo Terry Fox Run.
Traffic Impact: The run will begin on the Trunk 7 Highway, head north on Bell Street and Walker Street, east on Thomas Street, turn south to Terry Court run, and returning via the same route. The event will be traffic controlled by police. Motorists should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Road Closures – Hobson Lake Drive
Location: Hobson Lake Drive, between Horseshoe Lake Drive and Susie Lake Crescent
Date: Friday, September 22 to Saturday, September 23 (including overnight)
Time: 5 p.m. Friday, September 22 to 9 p.m., Saturday, September 23
Work details: A road closure will be in place to facilitate the Ride for Cancer event.
Traffic impact: Hobson Lake Drive, between Horseshoe Lake Drive and Susie Lake Crescent, will be closed from 5 p.m. Friday, September 22 until 9 p.m., Saturday, September 23 (including overnight). Local access will be maintained. Motorists should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Road Closure – Waverly Road
Location: Waverly Road, adjacent to Montebello Drive
Date: Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24
Time: 7 a.m.-5 p.m. each day (the road will reopen overnight)
Work details: The road closure will be in place to facilitate construction work.
Traffic impact: Waverly Road, adjacent to Montebello Drive, will be closed while work is underway. Detour signage will be in place to direct motorists around the work site. A path will remain open, allowing pedestrians and cyclists through the work area. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Road Construction – Highway 111
Location: Highway 111, between Windsor Street and Massachusetts Avenue
Date: Tuesday, September 19
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Work details: This work is related to a Nova Scotia Public Works bridge maintenance project.
Traffic impact: Lane reductions will be in place for traffic heading towards Windsor Street. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Maple Street
Location: Maple Street, between Ochterloney and Dahlia streets
Date: Wednesday, September 20 to Friday, September 29 (excluding weekends)
Time: Weekdays from 9 a.m. a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate underground utility work.
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. The sidewalk on the east side will remain open. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

PICTOU COUNTY: Trunk 4, Broadway
Trunk 4 between civic numbers 10421 and 10470 is closed for culvert replacement until September 30.
The detour is via Highway 104 between Exit 27 at Sutherland River and Exit 29 at Kenzieville.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Salt Springs Brook Bridge, Trunk 7
Salt Springs Brook Bridge on Trunk 7, about four kilometres south of the Town of Antigonish, is reduced to one lane until further notice for repairs.
Temporary traffic signals are in place.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Trunk 4, Antigonish
Trunk 4 between James and Church streets is closed, except to local traffic, until October 19 for construction of a roundabout.
Detour signs are in place.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 105, North Sydney
The intersection of Highway 105 and Tobin Road is reduced to one lane for roadwork until September 29.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Donaldson Bridge, French River
Donaldson Bridge on Lake Road, about three kilometres west of Tatamagouche, is closed until further notice.
The detours are on Trout Brook Road and Cooper Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche
Old Truro Road, from Kennedy Hill intersection to the Cross Road in North River, is closed until further notice due to a large culvert failure.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Salmon River Bridge, Truro
Salmon River Bridge, on Highway 102 between exits 14 and 14A, is reduced to one lane northbound until October for work on the bridge decking.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche
Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice because of a bridge closure.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Fountain Road, South Middleboro
Fountain Road, between Hunter Road and Simmonds Road, is closed until October 31 for removal and replacement of the Howard Bridge.
Traffic will be detoured from Fountain Road via Simmonds Road and Keers Mill Road.
Vehicles more than four metres wide need to plan an alternate route because of the width of structures on the detour route.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 16, Lincolnville
Trunk 16, from 0.2 kilometres north of the Old Monastery Road northerly to 1.4 kilometres north of the Lincolnville Loop, has alternating lane closures for paving and brush cutting until October 31.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor
The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 6, Highway 101, is closed for the construction of a new interchange to downtown Windsor.
A detour is available via Exit 5A. The off-ramp is closed until October.

HANTS COUNTY: Hydes Bridge, Lantz
Hydes Bridge on Highway 277 is closed until further notice.
A detour is in place via Dutch Settlement Road, Elmsdale Road and Trunk 2. Signs are in place.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Indian Path Bridge, Bayport
Indian Path Bridge, Route 332, is closed for replacement until further notice.
A detour is in place.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104 and Highway 106, Alma
Highway 104 at Exit 22, to Exit 2 on Highway 106, is reduced to one lane for paving until Friday, September 22.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Highway 104, Port Hawkesbury
Highway 104, at St. Peters Railway overpass, is reduced to one lane for repairs until September 30.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Royal Bridge, Isle Madame
Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.

West Bay Road, from Nature Dream Boulevard, easterly for 3.8 kilometres, is reduced to one lane for roadwork until September 30.

Baccaro Road has alternating lane closures for roadwork until October 31.

Trunk 3, from Evelyn Richardson Memorial Elementary School to 350 metres west of Pas Lane, will have alternating lane closures for roadwork until November 30.

Highway 105, from 3.2 kilometres west of Trunk 30, easterly to 600 metres east of Route 312, is reduced to one lane for roadwork until September 29.
