Update 9:02 p.m.: RCMP officers remain in the area of Sergeant Lane and Hedgeville Road in RiverJohn investigating firearms and stolen vehicle complaints that were received earlier today (the stolen car has been recovered). There’s no immediate threat to public safety at this time, and residents are no longer being asked to shelter in place. David Tobin-Chisholm continues to be a person of interest.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or through the P3 Tips App. The emergency alert that was issued this afternoon in Pictou County has been cancelled.

Update 6:20 p.m: RCMP officers and partner agencies are following up on investigative leads, which includes sightings received from the public.
At this time, investigators believe that Chisholm is still in the RiverJohn area. Sergeant Lane in RiverJohn is currently closed to traffic, to allow officers to do their work.
We are reminding the public that if you see Chisholm, do not approach him, dial 9-1-1. We will provide updates as we have more information.

Update – RCMP officers including members of the Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response Team and RCMP Police Dog Services are in the River John area of Pictou County continuing their search for Chisholm. Investigators are following up on sightings that are being called in.

RCMP officers are in the area of Sergeant Lane in River John searching for David Chisholm, aged 35, who may be armed. Residents in immediate area: Shelter in place. Chisholm is described as 5 foot 6 inches tall, 145 pounds, with a shaved head and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a black sweater. Chisholm is believed to be on foot. If you see Chisholm, do not approach, dial 9-1-1. Do not pick up hitch hikers.
