Police charge man for break and enter
Police have charged a man in relation to a break and enter that occurred in Halifax this weekend.
On February 12 at approximately 10:25 a.m. police received a report that sometime in the overnight hours a residence in the 5500 block of North Street was broken into and the suspect had taken the resident’s wallet containing identification and credit cards. The suspect then used the victim’s credit cards to make purchases.
At approximately 11:35 a.m. police received a report of a man on Creighton Street checking residence doors in the area. The man was arrested in the area a short time later after a brief foot pursuit. Officers seized stolen property, credit cards from the earlier break and enter and a knife.
Craig Morley Wilson, 37, was scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court yesterday to face charges of:
- Break and enter
- Fraud under $5,000
- Using and possessing stolen credit cards x 4
- Possession of weapon dangerous to the public peace
- Resisting arrest
- Failing to comply with condition of a court order x 4
Wilson is also facing charges in relation to a theft from a motor vehicle on Brunswick Street in Halifax that occurred on February 11 where a purse containing identification and credit cards was stolen. He is being charged with two counts of using and possessing stolen credit cards and one count of fraud under $5,000.
