Municipality lifts enforcement of overnight winter parking ban

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that enforcement of the overnight winter parking ban has been lifted in both Zone 1 – Central and Zone 2 – Non-Central.

Crews continue to plow and apply de-icing materials to streets and sidewalks across the municipality. Main arterials are clear and passable, with a focus on priority areas. Operations will continue until all areas have been addressed.

The overnight winter parking ban is in effect until March 31, 2023. Regardless of the status of an overnight winter parking ban, or whether you have received a notification, vehicles can be towed any time during the day or night, any day of the year, if they are interfering with snow-clearing operations, as per Section 139 of the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act.

Think before you park this winter — it will help make the season a little easier on everyone.
