Street Closure – Portland Street
Location: Portland Street, between Victoria Road and King Street
Date: Friday, Oct. 20
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Work Details: This closure is to facilitate filming of a television production.
Traffic Impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place. No impacts to sidewalks. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Location: Ochterloney Street, between Irishtown Road and Dundas Street
Date: Thursday, Oct 19
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Work Details: This closure is to facilitate filming of a television production.

Location: Victoria Road, Between Portland Street and Ochterloney Street

Traffic Impact: Street closure will be in place. Local traffic will be maintained. Sidewalks will remain open. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Gary Martin Drive
Location: Gary Martin Drive from Hammonds Plains Road to Broad Street
Date: Wednesday, October 18
Time: 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.
Work details: This work is to facilitate asphalt repair, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strat
Traffic impact: Lane drops with occasional stop and go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Cogswell Street
Location: Cogswell Street, from Brunswick to Barrington streets
Date: October 18 to June 2024
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is in support of the Cogswell District project. During this closure, crews will work on mass excavation, installing underground services and the construction of a new detour road in the Cogswell Street area.
Traffic impact: Residents may detour via Brunswick, Duke or Cornwallis streets. This closure will result in significant Halifax Transit impacts. For a complete list of impacted routes, visit our website.

Road Closure – Waverley Road
Location: Waverley Road, adjacent to Montebello Drive
Date: Friday, October 13 to Saturday, October 14
Time: 7 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday
Work details: The road closure will be in place to facilitate construction work.
Traffic impact: Waverley Road, adjacent to Montebello Drive, will be closed while work is underway. Detour signage will be in place to direct motorists around the work site. A path will remain open, allowing pedestrians and cyclists through the work area. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Trail Closure – Sackville Greenway Trail
Location: Sackville Greenway Trail between Alder Crescent and the baseball field near Atlantic Superstore.
Date: Monday, October 16 until Friday, November 3.
Time: 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. (weekdays only)
Work details: The portion of the trail noted above will be closed for repairs that are needed due to washout from recent flooding, as well as previously scheduled drainage improvements to minimize surface water and ice on the trail. This work supports 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic Delay – Cherry Brook and Lake Loon roads
Location: Cherry Brook and Lake Loon roads
Date: Saturday, Oct. 14
Time: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate the Black Lives Matter In This Together Society’s Emancipation Run.
Traffic impact: The run will take place on Cherry Brook and Lake Loon roads. The event will be traffic controlled by police. Motorists should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Road Closures – Edward Arab Avenue
Location: Edward Arab Avenue
Date: Saturday, Oct. 14
Time: 1-5 p.m.
Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate the Treat Accessibility Event.
Traffic impact: Edward Arab Avenue, between George Dauphinee Avenue and Stuart Graham Drive, will be closed during the event. Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained. Private security will be on-site staffing the barricades. Motorists should expect delays and use alternative routes.

Main Avenue and Joseph Howe Drive off-ramp
Location: Main Avenue and Joseph Howe Drive off-ramp
Date: Saturday, October 14 and Sunday, October 15
Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day (reopening overnight)
Work details: The closure will be in place to facilitate paving and underground utility work.
Traffic impact: There will be no access to Joseph Howe Drive, from either the Bedford Highway or Main Avenue at the Fairview Overpass. The sidewalk will be closed while work is underway. Traffic control personnel will be on-site to aid pedestrians navigating the site. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Salt Springs Brook Bridge, Trunk 7
Salt Springs Brook Bridge on Trunk 7, about four kilometres south of the Town of Antigonish, is reduced to one lane until November 30.
Temporary traffic signals are in place.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Trunk 4, Antigonish
Trunk 4 between James and Church streets is closed, except to local traffic, until October 19 for construction of a roundabout.
Detour signs are in place.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Commercial Street Bridge, Glace Bay
Commercial Street Bridge is closed for repairs until November 17.
Detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Donaldson Bridge, French River
Donaldson Bridge on Lake Road, about three kilometres west of Tatamagouche, is closed until further notice.
The detours are on Trout Brook Road and Cooper Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche
Old Truro Road, from Kennedy Hill intersection to the Cross Road in North River, is closed until further notice due to a large culvert failure.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Salmon River Bridge, Truro
Salmon River Bridge, on Highway 102 between exits 14 and 14A, is reduced to one lane northbound until October 31 for work on the bridge decking.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche
Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice because of a bridge closure.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Fountain Road, South Middleboro
Fountain Road, between Hunter Road and Simmonds Road, is closed until October 31 for removal and replacement of the Howard Bridge.
Traffic will be detoured from Fountain Road via Simmonds Road and Keers Mill Road.
Vehicles more than four metres wide need to plan an alternate route because of the width of structures on the detour route.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 16, Lincolnville
Trunk 16, from 0.2 kilometres north of the Old Monastery Road northerly to 1.4 kilometres north of the Lincolnville Loop, has alternating lane closures for paving and brush cutting until October 31.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Bedford / Lower Sackville
Highway 102 from Exit 4A to Exit 4C has lane reductions and intermittent road closures in both directions for the construction of the Highway 107-Highway 102 interchange, until October 30.
Traffic control will be on-site. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 111 (Windsor Street Exchange), Halifax
Construction on the structure over Mackintosh Street is underway and will continue through October. Traffic control is on-site.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor
The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 6, Highway 101, is closed for the construction of a new interchange to downtown Windsor.
A detour is available via Exit 5A. The off-ramp is closed until December.

HANTS COUNTY: Hydes Bridge, Lantz
Hydes Bridge on Highway 277 is closed until further notice.
A detour is in place via Dutch Settlement Road, Elmsdale Road and Trunk 2. Signs are in place.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Highway 105, Big Marsh Road
Highway 105 from Big Marsh Road easterly for five kilometres is reduced to one lane for surfacing work until October 31.
Traffic control will be on-site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Indian Path Bridge, Bayport
Indian Path Bridge, Route 332, is closed for replacement until further notice.
A detour is in place.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Highway 104, Whiteside to Louisdale
Highway 104, from Whiteside to Louisdale, is reduced to one lane for surfacing work until October 31.
Traffic control will be on-site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Royal Bridge, Isle Madame
Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Baccaro Road, Port La Tour
Baccaro Road has alternating lane closures for roadwork until October 31.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Trunk 3, Shag Harbour
Trunk 3, from Evelyn Richardson Memorial Elementary School to 350 metres west of Pas Lane, will have alternating lane closures for roadwork until November 30.
