Student Transit Pass Pilot Program expands
The Student Transit Pass Pilot Program has been extended and expanded to include six junior high schools for 2023.
The following schools will be included in the program as of January 1, 2023:
- Dartmouth High School
- Bicentennial School
- Dartmouth South Academy
- John Martin Junior High
- Woodlawn High School
- Caledonia Junior High
- Ellenvale Junior High
- Eric Graves Memorial Junior High
- École secondaire du Sommet
- École secondaire Mosaïque
This pilot program, offered in collaboration with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) and the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP) gives free annual transit passes to students, providing access to conventional buses, Access-A-Bus, and ferries.
Halifax Transit will review the extended program in fall 2023 and provide recommendations to Regional Council on next steps for the program.
