From record warm weather to snow

Eastern Canada had to quickly pack up the shorts and get the snowsuit out when temperatures flipped from the record heat on November 4 to 7 to snowy landscapes on November 12. Western Canada is probably thinking it is about time its other half joins the winter weather party!

From November 12 to 16, 25 to 40 cm of snow fell on eastern Quebec and northern New Brunswick with 40 to 50 cm on high ground, and more than 50 cm on the peaks of the Appalachians.

In a single 24-hour period, on November 16, 10 to 20 cm of snow fell in several regions of southern Quebec and northern New Brunswick, with up to 25 cm on high ground.

Weekend outlook

Most regions in Canada can expect temperatures at or below the freezing mark, with the exception of a few coastal locations.
