Queens District RCMP charge man in Break and Enter and Theft of Firearms investigation

Queens District RCMP has charged a man in relation to a break and enter and theft of firearms investigation in Queens County.

On August 21, 2022, Queens District RCMP responded to a report of a break-in at a home on Mooers Rd. in Milton. RCMP investigators learned that firearms were stolen during the break-in.

On November 15, RCMP investigators executed a search warrant at a home on M Smith Rd. in White Point. A 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, were both safely arrested at the home. During the search, investigators recovered several of the stolen firearms, ammunition and other stolen property.

Michael Gibson, 27, of White Point, has been charged with:

  • Breaking and Entering to Steal a Firearm;
  • Break, Enter and Commit;
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm;
  • Unsafe Storage of a Firearm (3 counts);
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm Knowing Possession is Unauthorized;
  • Possession of Weapon Obtained by the Commission of an Offence;
  • Tampering with a Serial Number;
  • Theft under $5,000;
  • Mischief under $5,000;
  • Possession of Stolen Property;
  • Failure to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking (2 counts).

Gibson has been remanded into custody and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court today.

The 25-year-old woman was later released on conditions and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on December 21, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. She will be charged with Possession of a Weapon Obtained by the Commission of an Offence, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Unsafe Storage of a Firearm and Possession of Stolen Property.
