Homicide Added to Rewards Program

The government is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the homicide of Sheila Patricia Madore.

Saturday, July 23, is the second anniversary of the last reported sighting of Ms. Madore. She was last seen in the Gottingen Street area of Halifax.

Ms. Madore, age 48 at the time, was reported missing on October 8, 2020, by a mobile outreach nurse who was familiar with her.

On March 12, 2021, human remains were found on the grounds of the Findlay Community Centre at 26 Elliot St., Dartmouth, and they were later identified as those of Ms. Madore. The medical examiner determined the cause of death was homicide.

Investigators believe there are people who may have information that could result in arrests and possible charges in relation to the death.

“Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward,” said Brad Johns, Attorney General and Minister of Justice. “I hope the addition of this case to the rewards program will assist investigators to identify those responsible.”

Anyone with information on this crime should call the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program at 1-888-710-9090. People who come forward with information must provide their name and contact information and may be called to testify in court. All calls will be recorded.
