Sirens for Life Challenge
Emergency Service Workers in HRM encourage blood donations
Emergency service workers in the Halifax Regional Municipality are continuing to answer the call to help save more lives as part of this year’s Sirens for Life.
Emergency service workers in HRM will challenge each other to see who can bring in the most donations from August 13 to September 30, 2021.
The goal of the campaign is to book 318 appointments and bring in 50 new donors in support of Canada’s Lifeline.
Last year the RCMP took home the Sirens for Life trophy with 162 units donated.
Canadian Blood Services is asking local residents to lend their arm by donating blood in support of their local emergency services teams. The campaign runs August 13 to September 30, 2021
First responders are helping save even more lives by donating blood and raising awareness about the ongoing need for donors as a part of our Sirens for Life partnership.
Sirens for Life is a friendly competition among first responders to see which team can bring in the most blood donations.
First responders often see the need for blood first-hand in their day-to-day duties.
We are inviting new and returning donors to join emergency workers rolling up their sleeves to give blood and help boost our national blood supply.
As Canadian Blood Services’ most frequent donors are getting older, it’s more important than ever to have new donors give blood now and throughout the year.
Finding a donor centre location and booking an appointment has never been easier for donors on-the-go with the new GiveBlood app and the blood.ca website.

Sirens for Life
Emergency service workers in Halifax Regional Municipality continuedto answer the call to help save more lives as part of this year’s annual Sirens for Life blood drive campaign.
(RCMP are looking to keep the title again)
The friendly challenge between Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency, Halifax Regional Police, RCMP, and EHS runs for a set period of time and the life-savers with the most collected donations won the Sirens for Life trophy.
At this time, Blood Services is hoping to fill 700 donations by the end of September.
