Weekly Traffic Advisories (Oct 23)

Note:  Each week the local listings are expanded and updated.  During the week new and updated tasks are added.  Every week a new post is started with fresh info but previous posts may be still valid.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant

Dillmans Bridge, on Wyse Road in Meaghers Grant, will be closed until further notice. A detour is available via Old Guysborough
Road. Signs are in place.



HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Peggys Point Road, Peggy’s Cove

Peggys Point Road, Peggy’s Cove, from the Visitor Information Centre west for about one kilometre, will be reduced to one lane until March 2021.

Work to take place from sunrise to sunset.



HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Perrin Drive, Fall River

Perrin Drive, Fall River, from Trunk 2 to 300 metres east of 107 Perrin Dr., will be reduced to one lane for roadwork until Saturday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.



HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102, Lantz

A temporary detour is in place on Highway 102 north of Exit 8, Elmsdale, for the replacement of the Nine Mile River bridges, northbound and southbound. This work is part of ongoing construction for the new Lantz Interchange and Connector Road.

The detour has a reduced speed limit of 80 kilometres an hour and is expected to be in place until mid-summer 2021.

The Lantz Interchange and Connector Road is expected to be complete and open to traffic by fall 2021.

Purcells Cove Road – Traffic Delay

Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on Purcells Cove Road, between Williams Lake Road and Aarons Way, on Friday, Oct. 30.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Seymour Street – Road Closure

Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Seymour Street, between Coburg Road and University Avenue, will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 29 and Friday, Oct. 30.​

Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Marked detours will be in place while work is underway. Pedestrian traffic will be directed around the work site as necessary.​

Spring Garden Road and Queen Street – Traffic Delay

Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays near the intersection of Spring Garden Road and Queen Street on Thursday, Oct. 29.

Crews will be on site from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. One lane of traffic will be maintained while work is underway.

Old Sackville Road and Downsview Drive – Road Construction

Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Downsview Drive, between Old Sackville Road and Canadian Tire, until the end of November.​ ​ ​

Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.​ each day on Downsview Drive. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

At times, there will be stop-and-go traffic on Old Sackville Road at the intersection of Downsview Drive, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

St. Margaret’s Bay Road – Road Construction

Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on St. Margaret’s Bay Road, at the intersection of James Street and St. Margaret’s Bay Road, on Monday, Oct. 26.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to noon. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Larry Uteck Boulevard – Traffic Delay

Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on Larry Uteck Boulevard, between Starboard and Southgate drives, on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Crews will be on site from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. One lane of traffic will be maintained while work is underway. Pedestrian traffic will be directed around the work site as necessary.​

 

Bell Road – Traffic Delay

Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on Bell Road, between Robie and Summer streets, on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. One lane of traffic will be maintained while work is underway.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.​

Your patience is appreciated while this work is completed.

Construction During COVID-19: Construction crews will strive to maintain physical distancing measures, however, residents may see workers within two metres of each other while completing certain tasks which aligns with the exemptions outlined in the Provincial Health Order. If approaching construction crews, residents are asked to provide at least two metres of physical distancing.
