Weekly Traffic Advisories (Oct 9)

Note:  Each week the local listings are expanded and updated.  During the week new and updated tasks are added.  Every week a new post is started with fresh info but previous posts may be still valid.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Bedford Bypass

A repaving and guardrail project is taking place on the Bedford Bypass westbound lanes, from the exit to Dartmouth Road to the overpass near the intersection of Highway 101.
Repairs will also be carried out to the structure over Memory Lane. Motorists should expect delays.

The work takes place from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is expected to be completed by Friday, Oct. 23.



HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Perrin Drive, Fall River

Perrin Drive, Fall River, from Trunk 2 to 300 metres east of 107 Perrin Dr. will be reduced to one lane for roadwork until Saturday, Oct. 31.

Work takes place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.



HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Peggys Point Road, Peggy’s Cove

Peggys Point Road, Peggy’s Cove, from the Visitor Information Centre west for about one kilometre will be reduced to one lane until March 2021.

Work to take place from sunrise to sunset.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant

Dillmans Bridge, on Wyse Road in Meaghers Grant, will be closed until further notice. A detour is available via Old Guysborough Road. Signs are in place.



HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102, Lantz

A temporary detour is in place on Highway 102 north of Exit 8, Elmsdale, for the replacement of the Nine Mile River bridges, northbound and southbound. This work is part of ongoing construction for the new Lantz Interchange and Connector Road.

The detour has a reduced speed limit of 80 kilometres an hour and is expected to be in place until mid-summer 2021.

The Lantz Interchange and Connector Road is expected to be complete and open to traffic by fall 2021.

Connaught Avenue and Berlin Street – Traffic Delay

Friday, Oct. 16, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays at the intersection of Connaught Avenue and Berlin Street on Saturday, Oct. 17.

Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Pedestrian traffic will be directed around the work site as necessary.​

Wyse Road – Traffic Delay

Friday, Oct. 16, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on Wyse Road, between Jamieson and Symonds streets, from Saturday, Oct. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 18.

Crews will be on site from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday. One lane of traffic will be maintained while work is underway.

Gottingen Street – Traffic Delay

Friday, Oct. 9, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays near 2513 Gottingen Street on Monday, Oct. 12.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.​

Your patience is appreciated while this work is completed.

Construction During COVID-19: Construction crews will strive to maintain physical distancing measures, however, residents may see workers within two metres of each other while completing certain tasks which aligns with the exemptions outlined in the Provincial Health Order. If approaching construction crews, residents are asked to provide at least two metres of physical distancing.
