Three recent traffic stops resulted in drug and firearms seizures

On January 9, 2025, at approximately 2:10 am, Truro Police Service (TPS) patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on Lower Truro Road resulting in two males being charged with possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purposes of trafficking. The vehicle and a quantity of drugs and other offence related items were seized at the scene. A 41-year-old Truro man and a 40-year-old Bible Hill man will appear in Truro Provincial Court on February 19, 2025.

On January 10, 2025, at approximately 2:30 pm, TPS patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on Arthur Street in Truro, which resulted in a quantity of cocaine and an illegal firearm, and the involved vehicle being seized. A 33-year-old female from Truro and a 47-year-old male from Cumberland County were arrested at the scene. Both are facing numerous charges, including several firearm offences. The female has been released from custody and will appear in Truro Provincial Court on February 26, 2025, and the male was remanded into custody and will appear in court at a later date.

Finally, on January 10, 2025, at approximately 9:20 pm, TPS patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on Queen Street in Truro, resulting in a quantity of cocaine, offence related property, a replica firearm, and the vehicle being seized. A 25-year-old female and a 37-year-old male both from Truro are facing numerous charges including possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking and will appear in Truro Provincial Court on February 12, 2025.

The names of the accused cannot be released until their court appearances.
