Roundabout Opening – Barrington Street
Location: Barrington Street near Nora Bernard Street (see attached map)
Date: Monday, Oct. 28
Time: Effective 6 a.m.
Work details: The construction of this roundabout is in support of the Cogswell District project.
Traffic impacts: Drivers will enter and exit the roundabout via Barrington Street and Upper Water Street. Drivers are reminded to yield to vehicles already in the roundabout, use their signals and look for those in crosswalks.
Halifax Transit impacts: With the new road configuration to support the opening of the roundabout, two temporary Halifax Transit stops on Barrington Street, south of Nora Bernard Street, will close.
Two temporary stops on Upper Water Street, in front of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, will open to replace them.
Pedestrian/cyclist impacts: Pedestrians and cyclists will continue to use the multi-use path in the area. Please follow signs for routing.
