12 Wing to Host Canadian Armed Forces SkyHawks Parachute Team Along with the Highway of Heroes Nova Scotia Tribute Ride
The Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team, the SkyHawks, will parachute onto the 12 Wing Shearwater sports field on Saturday, August 17 at 11 a.m. as part of the Highway of Heroes Nova Scotia Tribute Ride kick-off.
The Highway of Heroes Nova Scotia Tribute Ride is open to all vehicles with motorcycles leading the ride from the Sea King Club at 12 Wing to Truro, Nova Scotia. 2024 marks the 7th Nova Scotia Tribute Ride and the event has grown significantly since it first began. The purpose of the ride is to remember all veterans who have served in any capacity, Navy, Army, Air Force, Police, Firefighter, etc. and to honour those who are still serving.
What: Journalists will be given the opportunity to observe the SkyHawks’ thrilling performance of daring manoeuvres as well as observe the kick-off to the Highway of Heroes Nova Scotia Tribute Ride.
When: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on August 17, 2024. Media are requested to arrive by 10:40 a.m. to set up in preparation for the demonstration.
