Digby RCMP investigate fatal crash
Digby RCMP is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Hwy. 217 in Centreville, Digby County.
On July 20, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Digby RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Hwy. 217. The initial investigation indicates a Honda Civic was travelling westbound on Hwy 217 when it left the roadway and entered the ditch.
The driver and sole occupant of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene. Digby RCMP is working with the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service to positively identify the driver.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
Hwy. 217 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

RCMP investigates fatal collision in Mabou
Inverness County District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Mabou.
On July 20 at approximately 5:10 a.m., Inverness County District RCMP, fire services, and EHS, responded to a report of a collision on Hwy. 19 in Mabou. RCMP officers learned that a Honda Civic and a Ford F-150 were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.
The occupants of the Honda Civic, two youths, both of Inverness County, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
A passenger in the F-150, a 71-year-old man of Utah, United States, suffered life threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital by EHS where he was pronounced deceased.
The other three occupants in the F-150, also of Utah, suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital by EHS.
A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing, assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
Hwy. 19 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
