Road Construction – Fall River Road

Location: Fall River Road, from Windsor Junction Road to Jamieson Drive

Date:​ Friday, Oct. 15

Time: 9 a.m. to noon

Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation.​ This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: During this work, there will be stop-and-go traffic in place.​ Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Parkland Drive

Location: Parkland Drive from Kearney Lake Road to Lacewood Drive

Date: Friday, October 15

Time: Noon to 6 p.m.

Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation.​ This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: During this work, there will be lane drops in place.​ Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Mount Edward Road

Location: Mount Edward Road, from Belle Vista Drive to Woodlawn Road

Date: Friday, October 15

Time:​ 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Work details: This work is related to road rehabilitation. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network. Sidewalks will not be impacted at this time.

Traffic impact: Mount Edward Road, from Woodlawn Road to Spring Avenue,​ will be closed to traffic. A marked detour will be in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Lucasville Road, from Sackville Drive to the Sackville River

Date: Wednesday, Oct. 13 ​

Time:​ 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ​

Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation.​ This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: During this work, there will be lane drops in place as well as stop-and go-traffic.​ Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Night Time Road Construction – Wyse Road


Location: 
Wyse Road, at the intersection with Nantucket Avenue

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 12 and Wednesday, Oct. 13

Time: 9:30 p.m. each evening until 7:00 a.m. the following morning

Work details: This work is related to pavement rehabilitation.​This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Intersection signals will be shut down and stop and go traffic will be in place during this work. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists and pedestrians. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Sackville Drive

Location: Sackville Drive, from Beaver Bank Road to Florence Street

Date: Wednesday, October 13 to Friday, October 15

Time: ​ 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day

Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Lane drops in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – South Street

Location: South Street, from Queen Street to South Park Street

Date: Wednesday, Oct. 13

Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Work details: This work is to complete service for a crane at 5616 South Street.

Traffic impact: South Street will be closed between Queen Street and South Park Street during this work. Local traffic access will be maintained, and the sidewalk on the south side will remain open.

Road Construction – Barrington Street

Location: Barrington Street, from Glebe Street to Devonshire Avenue

Date: ​ Monday, Oct. 11

Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Stop and go traffic will be in place during this work. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Alderney Drive

Location: Alderney Drive, from North Street to Ochterloney Street

Date: Monday, Oct. 11 to Wednesday, Oct. 13

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily

Work details: This work is for natural gas pipeline installation at 33 Alderney Drive

Traffic impact: One lane of traffic will be maintained in either direction during this work. The sidewalk on the north side of the street will be closed. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.​ ​

Night Time Road Construction – Herring Cove Road


Location: 
Herring Cove Road from Cowie Hill Road to Old Sambro Road

Date: Monday, October 11 until Friday, October 15


Time:
7 p.m. each day until 6 a.m. the following morning

Work details: This work is for a natural gas pipeline installation at 7177 Quinpool Road.

Traffic impact: One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained. The sidewalk on the north side of the work site will be closed.

**** Provincial Media Release

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant

Dillmans Bridge on Wyse Road is closed until further notice. A detour is available via Old Guysborough Road. Signs are in place.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor

As part of the Highway 101 twinning project, the Exit 5A eastbound on-ramp will be closed until further notice, for construction of the new ramp.

Detour signs are in place.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102, Lantz

A temporary detour is in place on Highway 102 north of Exit 8, Elmsdale, for the replacement of the Nine Mile River bridges, northbound and southbound. This work is part of ongoing construction for the new Lantz Interchange and Connector Road.

The Lantz Interchange and Connector Road are expected to be complete and open to traffic by Sunday, October 31.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103

Highway 103, between exits 9 and 10, has alternating lane closures for roadwork until Sunday, October 31.

Work takes place 24 hours per day.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Highway 104, James River

Highway 104, westbound lane about one kilometre west of James River Interchange, Exit 30, will be reduced to one lane for approximately one kilometre.

Twinning work continues until 2023.

Signs are in place and drivers are encouraged to use caution.

DIGBY COUNTY: Joggins Bridge, Highway 101

Joggins Bridge, between exits 25 and 26, will be reduced to one lane with a reduced speed limit of 80 km/h due to bridge rehabilitation. Work will take place until Sunday, October 31.

Traffic control is in place.
