Police charge man in homicide of Trevor Charles Miller
Police have charged a man in relation to the murder of Trevor Charles Miller that occurred in early July in Halifax.
Today at approximately 1:15 p.m., investigators with the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division arrested 39-year-old Ian Matthew Huskins at Halifax Provincial Court. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
On July 1 at approximately 10:43 p.m. police responded to a report of shots fired in the 6300 block of Cork Street. Officers arrived on scene and located a man with gunshot injuries outside a residence and a woman with injuries inside a residence. The man and the woman were transported to hospital with what were considered to be life-threatening injuries at the time.
Trevor Charles Miller, 40, of Halifax, was located deceased inside a residence. The Medical Examiner later ruled his death a homicide.
Our thoughts remain with Trevor’s loved ones and the other two victims and their families. We hope that the charges announced today will bring some measure of comfort to everyone impacted by this tragic incident.
