Emera Oval opening for summer season
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that the Emera Oval is opening on Saturday, June 1 for the summer season.
Residents will be able to enjoy the concrete surface for rollerskating, biking, skateboarding, in-line skating and more.
Free equipment rentals, including bikes, scooters and skateboards, will be available – as well as access to public washrooms and first aid stations. Helmets are mandatory for all users and are also available for rent free of charge. Valid ID is required for all rentals.
E-powered and segway-style equipment are not permitted on the Emera Oval to ensure the safety of others.
The municipality will also be hosting Rec Day programming on Saturday, June 1 from noon to 3 p.m. Activities include face painting and balloon animals – as well as bike decorating and parade. There will also be different sport demonstrations.
