Truck crashes in Dartmouth after gas station robbery

At approximately 1:24 a.m. (August 19) police received a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Irving service station located at 219 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth.

A woman entered the store and demanded money from the employee. The suspect fled in a white Dodge Ram truck with an amount of money. There were no reported injuries and no weapon was seen or mentioned.

The truck was located abandoned a short time later in the area of Prince Albert Road and Pleasant Street in Dartmouth. The truck had left the road, striking two light poles as well as an interpretive structure associated with the Shubenacadie Canal. A K9 team conducted a track and did not locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a black female, 30-40 years old, 5’8’’, wearing a black jacket, black pants, a yellow bandanna and gloves
