RCMP investigates fatal crash in French Village
RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in French Village.
Yesterday, at approximately 7 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, fire, and EHS, responded to a report of a vehicle crash on Peggys Cove Rd., near the 12000 block. RCMP officers learned that a GMC Canyon was negotiating a curve when it left the roadway and struck a tree.
The passenger of the vehicle, a 28-year-old Hacketts Cove woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old Glen Haven man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.
A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
Peggys Cove Rd. was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
