This month is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month
Today, we want to highlight Special Constable Balsor, one of our dedicated Enforcement Officers.
Special Constable Balson has been with us for a year and a half. Always an animal lover, with a special place in her heart for animals in need, she can now say she found her calling.
“Although it took me quite a few years to find my calling, I can absolutely say, that I have definitely found it. Being an enforcement officer for animal control has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Being an advocate for animals and their well-being makes the job very rewarding! Of course, there are not so good days and hard days but there are so many great days where you know you’ve made a difference in an animal’s life and that makes it all worth it,” Special Constable Balsor explained.
This is a tough job, but just as rewarding at the end of the day. And while it is tricky to choose one special moment, some stay with us forever. Special Constable Balsor shared, “One in particular would be a sweet old doggo!! He was older and had his issues and a bad eye, but he was the absolute sweetest boy! He was in the shelter for so long. I used to spend some of my lunch sitting with him and keeping him company. Or any chance I could I’d drop in to give him some love! He was finally adopted by a wonderful family and is doing great!! He’s a special boy to me!”
After an entire day of helping animals, Special Constable Balsor goes home to a full house of six cats and one dog.
There aren’t enough words to thank Special Constable Balsor for her unwavering dedication and hard work. So, please join us in giving her and Enforcement Officers everywhere a big round of a-paws! You are paw-some!
