Colchester District RCMP welcomes new District Commander
The Nova Scotia RCMP has appointed Staff Sergeant Marc Rose as District Commander for the Colchester District RCMP.
“In the coming weeks in my new role, I plan to better understand the current landscape of the district, meet with my employees, and connect with community members,” says S/Sgt. Rose. “As my team and I promote public safety throughout the region, a key priority for me is to engage the youth and seniors who live in the area.”
Originally from Newfoundland, S/Sgt. Rose joined the RCMP in 2003. After graduating from RCMP Depot, he was posted to Pictou County. He worked in Ottawa and Cornwall, Ontario, before being transferred back to Nova Scotia. And prior to his appointment as District Commander, S/Sgt. Rose worked in Colchester County and most recently at the Dartmouth-based Operational Communications Centre as a Risk Manager.
“My family and I have lived in Colchester County since 2014, and we’re very happy in this outstanding community; it’s a perfect fit for us,” says S/Sgt. Rose. “Colchester County has a lot to offer; I enjoy being involved in coaching youth soccer and hockey, and in my spare time, I enjoy participating in local sports and outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing and hunting.”
