*IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT *
Over the past four years, a global shortage in veterinary staff has brought about unprecedented challenges, and this has affected our local community as well. However, we are delighted to announce that despite the complexities of today’s veterinary landscape, we have successfully expanded our team (after an exhaustive search.) We are so excited that we will be able to introduce our current team as well as our new members of the MAEC family in the upcoming weeks. We are working collaboratively to provide exceptional care to pets in the HRM and beyond.
In light of the ongoing staffing shortage, the next few weeks will pose particular challenges. To optimize our resources where they are most needed, we’ve made the decision to temporarily adjust our hours.
On Monday, March 11, the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic will CLOSE and will not be providing 24 hour care. We will REOPEN Thursday, March 14th at 8am. Upon reopening we will once again be offering around the clock emergency and critical veterinary services as we normally do.
To clarify, from 8am Monday morning until 8am Thursday, we will be fully closed. Your family veterinary hospital is aware of this and will have services in place for emergency coverage. Please check with your hospital ahead of time so you know how to proceed if an emergency should occur.
We do expect this alteration in hours to be temporary – there may be further brief closures but this will only affect the next few weeks until our new additions are fully on board. We will update with further information as it becomes available.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your ongoing support! The challenges presented over the past four years have been significant, yet we take pride in having worked hard to serve our community for the last 25 years. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to continue our commitment in the days ahead.
