HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 118

The Highway 118 southbound ramp onto the Highway 111 eastbound ramp will be closed for the weekend, starting at 6 p.m. today, Aug.7, for maintenance. A detour will be in place. The ramp will be open by 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Bedford Bypass

A repaving project is taking place on the Bedford bypass westbound lanes, from the exit to Dartmouth Road to the overpass near the intersection of Highway 101.

Repairs will also be carried out to the structures over Memory Lane, Rocky Lake Drive and Highway 102.
Motorists should expect delays between 7 p.m. to 3 p.m. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, Sept. 18.


HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Bell Boulevard

Bell Boulevard, from the Highway 102 northbound ramp to east of Pratt and Whitney Drive, will have lane reductions for road widening, paving, curb and intersection removal. No road closures are planned. Work is scheduled until Friday, Aug. 28.

Traffic control will be on site.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant

Dillmans Bridge, on Wyse Road in Meaghers Grant, will be closed until further notice.

A detour is available via Old Guysborough Road. Signs are in place.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Pratt and Whitney Drive

Pratt and Whitney Drive, from Aerotech Drive to Baldwin Drive, will have lane reductions and lane closures for curb and road repair until Friday, Aug. 28. During this time Pratt and Whitney Drive, from Baldwin Drive to Bell Boulevard, will be permanently closed.

Traffic control measures and detours are in place.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Route 333

Route 333 (Brookside Road to Terence Road), is reduced to one lane for patching, crack sealing and micro surfacing until Friday, Aug. 28.

Work will take place weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic control will be in place. Expect delays.

Eisener Boulevard – Road Construction

Friday, August 14, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Eisener Boulevard, between Portland Street and Portland Estates Boulevard, on Friday August 14.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.​ Lane drops will be in place while work is underway.

Bayers Road – Nighttime​ Road Construction

Monday, August 10, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that nighttime road construction will take place on Bayers Road, between Highway 102 and Romans Avenue, from Sunday, August 16 to Thursday, August 20.​ Monday, August 10 to Thursday, August 13.

Crews will be on site from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. each day. Lane drops and occasional stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Valleyfield Road – Road Construction

Thursday, August 13, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Valleyfield Road, between Tacoma Drive and Woodlawn Road, on Thursday, August 13.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will return from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.​ Lane drops will be in place while work is underway.

Woodlawn Road – Road Construction

Tuesday, August 11, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Woodlawn Road, from Main Street to Mount Edward Road, on Wednesday, August 12.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will return from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.​ Lane drops will be in place while work is underway.

Kearney Lake Road – Utility Work

Wednesday, August 5, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Nova Scotia Power will be completing utility work in the area of Kearney Lake between Hamshaw Drive and Larry Uteck Boulevard will continue Wednesday August 12 and Thursday, August 13. ​ will continue on Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11.

Crews will be onsite from 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily. One lane of traffic will be maintained while work is underway.

As a result of this work, the supervised Kearney Lake beach was closed on Monday, August 10.

Bayers Road – Nighttime​ Road Construction

Monday, August 10, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that nighttime road construction will take place on Bayers Road, between Highway 102 and Romans Avenue, from​ Monday, August 10 to Thursday, August 13.

Crews will be on site from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. each day. Lane drops and occasional stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

South Street – Traffic Delay

Monday, August 10, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on South Street, between Oxford and Robie streets, from Tuesday, August 11 to Tuesday, September 1.

Heritage Gas will be installing pipelines and restoring permanent asphalt and concrete in the area. Crews will be on site weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. One lane of traffic will be maintained while work is underway.

Forest Hills Parkway ​ – Road Construction

Friday, August 7, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Forest Hills Parkway, from Chameau Crescent to Cole Harbour Road, beginning Monday, August 10 until the end of October.

Crews will be on site, often in multiple locations, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Lane drops and occasional stop-and-go traffic will be in place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Joseph Howe Drive – Road​ Construction

Friday, August 7, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Joseph Howe Drive, between the Armdale Rotary and the Fairview overpass, from Saturday, August 8 to Sunday, August 9.

Crews will be on site Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. ​ ​

Windmill Road – Traffic Delay

Friday, August 7, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays near 520 Windmill Road, from Monday, August 10 to Tuesday, August 11.

Heritage Gas will be relocating a natural gas main in the area. Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Two-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Construction During COVID-19: Construction crews will strive to maintain physical distancing measures, however, residents may see workers within two metres of each other while completing certain tasks which aligns with the exemptions outlined in the Provincial Health Order. If approaching construction crews, residents are asked to provide at least two metres of physical distancing.
